Visit these unspoilt islands in this ultimate tour for bird watchers, twitchers and natural history lovers. Spend over two hours ashore on Lunga to visit the puffin colony, then time on Staffa and two hours on Iona to explore and seek out the rare corncrake.
From Oban you will board the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry to Craignure on Mull. From Craignure you will travel to Fionnphort on our local West Coast Motors bus service. At Fionnphort Staffa Tours will take you on your cruise of the beautiful isles of Staffa, Lunga and Iona. Over two hours will be spent on Lunga where you can visit the puffin colony, then time on Staffa and two hours on Iona to explore and seek out the rare corncrake.
We cruise to the Treshnish Isles and en route we search for sightings of whales, dolphins and basking sharks. When seen we spend as much time as possible with them. We land on Lunga, the largest of the Treshnish Isles. The main attraction there is the large puffin colony but there are also many thousands of other seabirds nesting there. From Lunga we cruise to Staffa with time ashore to visit Fingal’s Cave. The Treshnish Isles and Staffa wildlife cruise lasts for approximately five and a half hours and the time ashore on Lunga is over two hours with a visit to Staffa.
On the way to Staffa and the Treshnish Isles keep an eye out for dolphins, porpoises and minke whales which are often seen during the warmer months.
Please Note: No Iona visit on Monday due to ferry timetables.
The tour departs from the Ferry Terminal Railway Pier, Oban on Caledonian MacBrayne’s MV Isle of Mull, crossing the Firth of Lorn to Craignure on Mull where you join your coach.
